BlackBerry Solutions

Here at freedom we are passionate about all mobile platforms. With our Bluetooth products and software development we have many years of experience with supporting and developing for many mobile platforms, such as, Windows Mobile, Symbian, Palm and Java.

The majority of us at freedom however are avid BlackBerry users (or more accurately addicts) and we use our own BlackBerrys on a daily basis, they are a key item in keeping our business running. We have been a BlackBerry ISV Alliance Member for over 3 years, we are active in many BlackBerry communities and we also sponsor one of the biggest BlackBerry communities on the internet, www.blackberryforums.com

As such we are very pleased to now be able to offer the BlackBerry solution directly to you. We are now able to provide BlackBerry phones, contracts, services (setup, software/solutions sourcing/creating and consultation) and will soon be launching our own software applications as well.

For more information on what the BlackBerry solution is all about check out our “Why BlackBerry Page”.

If you already have a BlackBerry and are looking for some top applications or you are interested in the BlackBerry solution and want to see some examples of what it is capable of visit our “BlackBerry Software” page.

Newsflash

  • Please note our keyboards listed as working with the iPhone (Freedom Universal Keyboard², Freedom Pro Keyboard and Freedom i-Connex) will only work with the following iOS products running the 4.0 Frimware.

    • 3Gs
    • 4G
    • Latest Generation iPod Touch
    • iPad (running 3.8 or above).

Unfortunately Apple has not included Bluetooth keyboard support in OS4 for the iPhone 3G.

  • Android Drivers are available for the Freedom Pro Keyboard for Android Devices running 1.5/1.6 and 2.0/2.1/2.2

To install them please go to www.otadrivers.com from your Android Internet browser.

For installation and connection instructions please download the updated Freedom Pro Keyboard user guide from the following link - USER GUIDE.

Please note: There is currently an issue on some HTC phones which means it is not possible to connect any keyboard to them. The problem appears to be that some HTC phones running the newer operating systems are still running old versions of the Android Bluetooth stack which is affecting the ability of these devices to connect to Bluetooth accessories.

    The effected devices are:
    HTC Hero/Eris running 1.6
HTC Desire (some users are reporting that the 2.1 update 1 has fixed the bluetooth issue).
    HTC Imagine.

The Android drivers will however work well with all other manufacturers Android based phones and HTC phones without the effected Bluetooth. Updates to the above effected HTC devices may resolve the Bluetooth issue.

  • After many (many, many, many!) months of waiting the iPhone OS now has Bluetooth support for our keyboards. All of our dual mode keyboards (that run in both HID and SPP) will connect to the  iPhone 3GS and the most recent generation iPod touch running the 4.0 OS and the iPad, including our current Freedom Pro Keyboard.

As of writting this there was no set release date for the Apple OS 4.0 update schedule but it is expected to be available in the "summer".

We are releasing the Freedom i-Connex keyboard for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch in June. This keyboard will be HID only (so will also work with Windows Mobile 6.5, Playstation 3, Desktop/Laptop computers and any other devices with built in support for HID keyboards). RRP $69.99, £59.99, €69.99
